Ancient Greece in Italy – Magna Graecia Virtual Tour
What if you could experience Ancient Greece… without leaving Italy?
Step back over 2,500 years on this captivating virtual journey into the world of Magna Graecia, where Greek settlers built powerful cities across Southern Italy and helped shape the foundations of Western civilization long before the rise of Rome.
Magna Graecia — meaning “Great Greece” — was the name given to the Greek colonies that flourished along Italy’s southern coasts, where cities like Taranto, Paestum, and Cumae became vibrant centers of culture, trade, and innovation between the 8th and 6th centuries BCE.
This was the land of brilliant minds like Archimedes and Pythagoras — a world of monumental temples, seaside theaters, and vibrant cities that reflected the brilliance of Greek culture.
From the majestic temples of Paestum in Campania to the breathtaking Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, you’ll discover architectural wonders that still stand as timeless symbols of Greek genius. We’ll explore legendary places like Syracuse, where Archimedes once lived and where the Greek Theater still overlooks the sea, along with cities like Taranto and Reggio Calabria, where the Greek legacy still echoes today.
Join us as we uncover the wonders of this ancient Greek world — all from the comfort of your own home.
