Qc Terme Pres Saint Didier: The Most Popular Hot Springs in Italy
An experience you wouldn’t want to lose: let yourself be cradled and cuddled by the lightness of the hot water springing at the foot of the Mont Blanc at Qc Terme Pre Saint Didier, one of the most popular hot springs in Italy.
These natural hot springs in Italy, known since Roman times, gush out of a grotto that can be found on the slopes of the Cascata dell’Orrido (Orrido Waterfall), only a stone’s throw away from the spa facilities. The natural hot springs of Pre-Saint-Didier flow out from the mountain at a temperature of around 37 degrees.
The springs of the area were already known in Roman times, but the systematic use of the water began in the middle of ‘600, when the first visitors came here to «pass waters».
The thermal establishment dates back to 1834 and the building which hosted the Casino to 1888. For more than 150 years the thermal baths were one of the main attraction centres of Aosta Valley, hosted famous people and became the favourite holiday resort by the Italian Royal Family.
Completely renovated after more than 30 years closed, the thermal establishment of Pré-Saint-Didier’s back to its ancient splendour, keeping the architecture of the epoch.
Inside the spa facilities you will also find sensory baths, baths with music therapy, Vichy showers and foot baths, beside colour therapy rooms, hammers and themed saunas in wooden chalets.
A small oasis of wellness is scattered all around the spa with hot and cold walking pools, darkened meditation rooms, relaxation rooms equipped with swing chairs, water beds and chaise lounges.
From the spa a striking passage in the water outside the door in a first large thermal pool, which in turn is connected directly to a second satellite tub with whirlpool jets.
With three swimming pools positioned on the outside, in fact, you can relax even during a snowfall while watching the magic show of snowflakes falling from the sky.
The saunas are instead located within peculiar log cabins, built with panoramic windows overlooking the Mont Blanc. One turret of the building is dedicated to treatments where expert therapists give relaxing and toning massages for the whole body.
During the day, the Wellness Master proposes to the guests relaxation techniques, exercises and treatments for the body in the saunas, beauty masks and flavoured peeling in the steam bath.
Included in entrance price an elegant buffet, the only happy hour you can enjoy in your bathrobe.
