The Brancacci Chapel in Florence Virtual Tour
Join us for a virtual tour that takes you up close to one of the most important masterpieces of the early Renaissance: the frescoes of the Brancacci Chapel in Florence.
Often called a “school of the world” for painters, this beautiful chapel tells powerful stories through images and changed the way artists painted forever.
With the help of slides, we’ll explore the chapel’s amazing cycle of frescoes, started in the 1400s by Masaccio and Masolino, and later finished by Filippino Lippi. These paintings were a turning point in art, when artists began to focus more on realistic people, depth, and emotion.
You’ll see how Masaccio’s use of light and shadow shaped the future of painting, and how the scenes show not just religious stories, but also what life was like in 15th-century Florence. What makes this chapel even more special is how it connects to real places and people. Some scenes are set in the streets of old Florence, and some of the faces you’ll see are real people from that time—including famous artists.
Look closely, and you might recognize Brunelleschi, the architect of the great dome in Florence, and Botticelli, known for painting The Birth of Venus.
Don’t miss this unique chance to explore a true Renaissance treasure—without leaving home
