Spello Virtual Walking Tour – Italy’s Living Postcard
On the slopes of Mount Subasio lies Spello, one of the most charming towns in Umbria. Here history and beauty come together in narrow alleys, stone houses covered with flowers, and quiet squares that make Spello one of the most picturesque villages in Italy.
Often called a living postcard, Spello is famous for its warm-colored stone buildings decorated with geraniums and vines. This love for flowers has earned it the name “the village of flowers.” Its spirit shines brightest during the Infiorata, the festival of Corpus Domini, when carpets of petals cover the streets with amazing colors and designs. But even outside the festival, the whole town feels like it is always blooming.
As we walk virtually through Spello’s streets, you’ll discover not only its charm but also its long history. The town has ancient roots and grew over many centuries. It prospered in Roman times, when Emperor Augustus made it a colony, and later in the Middle Ages, when it took on the character that still makes it special today.
Join us to explore Spello, and let yourself be inspired by its flowers, history, and timeless atmosphere in the heart of Umbria.
