Calabria Virtual Tour – Uncover the Magic of Italy’s Deep South

Join us for a fascinating virtual tour with slides through Calabria, one of Italy’s most beautiful, authentic, and surprisingly undiscovered regions, where ancient Greek temples, enchanting medieval villages, magnificent churches, and breathtaking coastal landscapes reveal centuries of extraordinary history.

Located at the very tip of Italy’s boot, between the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, Calabria is a land of dramatic contrasts, fascinating legends, and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.

Through carefully selected slides, we will embark on an unforgettable journey through some of Calabria’s most spectacular places, exploring picturesque seaside towns, hilltop villages, ancient archaeological sites, and remarkable religious monuments.

Our adventure will begin along Calabria’s stunning coastline, where we will discover the breathtaking beauty of Tropea, with its dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and iconic Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola. We will then explore Scilla and Chianalea, a charming fishing village where colorful houses stand directly beside the sea and ancient Greek mythology tells the terrifying story of Scylla and Charybdis.

Traveling inland, we will step back in time in some of Italy’s most beautiful medieval villages, including Gerace, with its impressive Norman cathedral and atmospheric stone streets, and Stilo, home to the extraordinary Cattolica, a small Byzantine church that preserves the fascinating artistic heritage of medieval Calabria.

But Calabria’s history stretches back much further than the Middle Ages!

We will journey into the fascinating world of Magna Graecia, when powerful Greek colonies flourished along these shores. We will explore the remains of ancient temples and archaeological treasures, including the remarkable Temple of Hera Lacinia at Capo Colonna, the ancient city of Locri Epizefiri, and the impressive archaeological heritage of Scolacium.

Along the way, we will uncover fascinating legends, surprising historical facts, unusual traditions, and little-known stories that make Calabria such an extraordinary destination.

Join us as we uncover the beauty, history, legends, and hidden wonders of Calabria, a captivating land where ancient civilizations meet timeless traditions and some of Southern Italy’s most unforgettable landscapes!
